Registration of newborns
Parents can contact the nearest registry office, regardless of their place of residence, where they will receive all the necessary documents for the child.
- Both parents should come to the registry office together and bring the following documents: identity cards,
- current account cards,
- foreign citizens: a copy of the travel document (proof of citizenship), birth certificate, not older than 3 months (if the mother is not married) or marriage certificate, not older than 3 months
The deadline for registering a child in the birth register is 30 days from the day of the child's birth.
Through the e-Newborn service, parents register their child's birth online from the comfort of their home, using an electronic ID card and a smart card reader. Records and documents are delivered to them through the personal user mailbox: electronic record from the birth register and citizenship records, certificate of residence, registration confirmatio to HZZO and tax benefits.
Parents can automatically request a one-time financial compensation from HZZO, as well as financial support from their city or municipality.
This additional service makes it much easier for parents, and instead of collecting documentation and physically submitting it to the municipality or city, from now on, in just a few clicks, they can submit that request themselves.

The precondition for using the application is that the father/mother has an open Personal User Box (OKP) in the e-Citizens system in order to send notifications and e-Documents to the parent's OKP.
